Hellosleep manufacturer ‘The Foam Company’ announces NBF Audit Results – January 2017
We (The Foam Company) are audited by the NBF (National Bed Federation) each year as part of our membership. This year, the audit was far more intense and strict, and new ratings were introduced so that a supplier can be given one of 3 classifications:
* Audit results are rated A (Preferred), B (Approved) or C (Not Approved), depending on the number of Non-Conformances (NCs) recorded by the auditors against a comprehensive checklist. A major NC is where one (or more) product identified is not compliant with statutory or Code requirements or there is a lack of ability to demonstrate suitable due diligence. A minor NC is classed as a deficiency which requires prompt attention to prevent a potential product safety failure or legal issue from arising.
A Preferred result is awarded where there are no major NCs and up to five minor NCs. The next maintenance audit will be scheduled in c. two years. An Approved result is awarded where no more than 1 major NC and/or up to 10 minor NCs are noted. This will result in a maintenance audit within 9-12 months at which a Preferred result will be required. A Not Approved result is awarded where there are two or more major NCs and/or 11 or more minor NCs. Here a follow-up audit will be required within three months, and at which a Preferred result will be required. All NCs must be closed out with the auditors, with relevant evidence, within a timescale agreed with the auditors, usually no longer than four weeks.
We are pleased to announce we (The Foam Company) has secured a “preferred” rating with zero non-conformances.
